The First of Many

Hello! My name is Kristina Tuminaro, and I am a freshman. I was born in Thousand Oaks in 1990, although that is not my current home. We moved to Northern California when I was about two and have stayed here ever since. I actually have come to prefer Northern California to Southern California, althought I do believe Southern California has better beaches. I have a brother that is 22 months younger than me and we are close. I have a good relationship with my parents, who are going to celebrate their 31st anniversary this November.

I grew up about 30 minutes south of San Jose, so I haven't had as hard a time adjusting as some people. College life is actually rather fun and I find myself enjoying the freedom. The classes so far seem very interesting and I'm excited to be taking classes I've picked, rather than classes I am put into by the administration of the high school. I am attending San Jose to study forensic science, a topic I have been interested in since freshman year of high school. I realize that CSI doesn't present an accurate picture of what forensics may be like, but I have always been interested in law enforcement of some sort, and since my parents strongly disapprove of the idea of me being an officer, this is the closest I can get. I think I would enjoy staying in the lab the most, running experiments. I have that sort of learning style I suppose, a more practical approach than the conjecture that is required to be a homicide detective. I would rather find the clues and let someone else put them together in a legible format I suppose.

I was raised on rock music, and have mostly stayed within that genre. I like all kinds of music though, although I prefer not to listen to modern rap and any type of country. There is a funny story behind my intense hatred for country, but I suppose I shall have to save that for another time. I am excited to learn more about the rock genre and be exposed to different types of music genres.

  1. Yes, save that story for the "songs I hate" blog post.

    Welcome to the class!
